Shanghai taxi drivers go on strike over pension dispute

Taxi drivers from the Fuxin Taxi Company went on strike Monday morning in Shanghai, each posting a piece of paper calling for redress to their pension situation.

Cab drivers from the Fuxin Taxi Company in Shanghai held a strike on Monday morning over pension disputes with the company, clogging the roads near Xianxia Road in Changning district. The company said that the labor and social security bureau is negotiating between themselves and the drivers to settle the dispute.

At the same time, drivers in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province have also gone on strike in several downtown locations to protest over traffic jams and high fuel prices.
