North and South Korean Religious Organizations “USA – Japan Conspire according to law of the Jungle”

Sixty years after the ratification of the Korean armistice and 108 years after the secret ratification of the “Katsura-Taft Treaty” between the United States of America and Japan, North and South Korean religious organizations issued a joint appeal that denounces both the United States´and Japan´s role in dividing the Korean peninsula and the Koran people.

The secret US-Japanese Katsura-Taft Treaty which was ratified 108 years ago, which provided Japan with the pretext and opportunity to violate Korean sovereignty was criticized in the joint statement issued by the North Korean Council for the Reunification of Tangun´s Nation and the South Korean Council for the Peaceful Unification of Tangun´s Nation on Monday.

Japanese top-officials continue insisting that their forced prostitution of tens of thousands of Korean women for Japan´s imperial army was justified and necessary.

Japanese top-officials continue insisting that their forced prostitution of tens of thousands of Korean women for Japan´s imperial army was justified and necessary.

The joint appeal denounced the “Katsura-Taft Treaty”, which was a top-secret agreement between the USA and Japan, as a conspiracy to connive about the US occupation of the Philippines and the Japanese occupation of the Korean peninsula.

The Council for the Reunification of Tangun´s Nation and the Council for the Peaceful Unification of Tangun´s Nation assessed the treaty as being criminal and stated, that it proves as historical fact, that the USA and Japan will conspire with each other to utterly violate the sovereignty of the Korean nation according to the logic of imperialism and the law of the jungle.

The statement warns, that Japan´s claim to the Tok Islets, which have been a part of the territory of the Korean nation for thousands of years, is showing that Japan is becoming ever more undisguised in its moves to pursue a new imperialist policy, instead of sincerely representing and apologizing for the hideous crimes by it against the Korean nation in the past, although 108 years have passed. The statement continues:

“The Korean nation is a cultured nation which has a history spanning five thousand years and it created a great culture to be proud of in the world. This is recognized by the world community, to say nothing about the United States and Japan.

The statement encourages national organizations in the North, the South and abroad to seek the best way of defending and glorifying the dignity of the Korean nation through national cooperation with the help of both the North and South of Korea and to show pride in the ancestors of Tangun, in the spirit of patriotism, unity, and his noble teachings. The statement continues:

“We should inherit the forerunners´noble spirit of anti-Japanese independence and anti-imperialism, and Koreans in the North, in the South and overseas should rise up as one to shatter the evermore undisguised outrages and moves of crafty Japan under the banner of unity”.

“The Council for the Peaceful Unification of Tangun’s Nation, the Council of Bereaved Families of Men of Merit for Independence, the Federation of Homogeneous Nation Movement Organizations and 73 odd national organizations and patriotic religious delegates will take the lead in the resolute and dynamic anti-Japanese struggle. They will strongly oppose any form of war on the Korean Peninsula and, to this end, wage a strenuous movement to defuse the danger of war on the peninsula and achieve peace on this land”.

The statement concludes by encouraging firm support in the spirit of the June 15 declaration and the October 4 declaration, and it encourages to dynamically advance to achieve the peaceful reunification of the country by pooling efforts and wisdom and in the spirit of Korea itself.
