On August 11, Family Planning Bureau of Guangzhou Municipality said that Guangzhou plans to apply to become a pilot city of the province, after Guangdong achieves national pilot identity of allowing second child for a couple.
“Actually, it must be based on carrying capacity of the current population in Guangzhou and household registration population in Guangzhou. And we also hope that we can optimize the structure of the population in Guangzhou in an appropriate and reasonable way, within the carrying capacity of Guangzhou. ” the official said on a council yesterday.
