KCNA, the official news agency of the Democratic Peoples´Republic Korea informs, that a massive US-led military exercise with participation of US, South Korean, Australian and other nations military forces, including nuclear forces off the coast of the DPRK are of such a threatening nature, that the DPRK had to put its military on highest alert and mobilize all defense forces. KCNA reports, that the DPRK has revoked the Armistice Agreement and that the Peoples´Republic´s forces are prepared to deploy nuclear weapons if needed.
A spokesperson for the Supreme Command of the Korean People´s Army has issued a statement, in which the reasons for making the decision to mobilize the nation’s defense forces are detailed. The statement reflects a DPRK, which has been consistently threatened with military aggression, illegal and inhumane sanctions and an atmosphere, in which the population has to live with the permanent fear of a nuclear strike against the country, while both the development of technologies for peaceful purposes and the nation’s defense initiatives are construed into arguments for further aggravating the situation. The massive military maneuver, with nuclear armed vessels and the potential to unleash at least 100 nuclear warheads on the people of the DPRK has forced the DPRK to take appropriate countermeasures.
The spokesperson of the Supreme Command of the Korean People´s Army emphasized, that the successful launch of a satellite on 12 December 2012 was for peaceful purposes and for ensuring international transparency. The USA and its allies however, so the spokesperson, negated the sovereignty of the DPRK over the satellite launch, finally podding the UN Security Council into adopting a “resolution on sanctions” before opting for high-handed hostile acts.
With such hostilities ongoing, so the spokesperson, the DPRK was compelled to take practical countermeasures to defend the security and sovereignty of the country, by conducting the third underground nuclear test to secure, that the country has a deterrent against aggression. Also this measure, so the spokesperson, was used to slap even tougher sanctions against the DPRK.
Not content with even this, so the spokesperson, they kicked off the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercise to stifle the DPRK by force of arms, by mobilizing huge armed forces of aggression.
The joint military exercises, which began on 1 March, and which are supposed to last for two months, constitute a serious threat to peace and security in the divided country. The situation already being so tense that even slight incidents could lead to hostilities, the massive maneuver is prompting the DPRK to respond.
The spokesperson of the armed forces stated, that unlike last year, in this years exercises, super-large nuclear-powered carriers and carrier task forces, carrying at least 100 nuclear warheads, B-52H strategic bombers and other means of aggression for ground, sea and air nuclear strikes.
The spokesperson continued, stating that from this point of view, the exercises cannot be construed otherwise than the most dangerous nuclear war maneuvers targeted against the DPRK and the most undisguised military provocation to be made by a group of all hues of hostile forces.
The spokesperson continued, stating that in view of the prevailing situation, the Supreme Command of the KPA, which is responsible for the national defense and security of the country, as well as for the destiny of the nation, has sent a meaningful warning message to the USA and the aggressors forces through the KPA Panmujon mission on 23 February. However, the joint military exercises have persisted.
The military spokesperson emphasized, that looking back on history, the Korean people have neither shot even a single arrow nor thrown a single stone at the land of the United States, but that the USA is working with bloodshot eyes to swallow up the DPRK, not content with having incurred the pent-up grudge of the Korean people, which can never be settled.
The spokesperson stated that south Korea´s Minister of Defense Kim Kwan Jin and the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff have inspected the front-line army cops, fleet command and guided missile units, where they blustered that a sort of military provocation is to be expected from the North and cried out for making “deadly strikes” and “preemptive strikes” as the “basis for provocations”.
The military spokesperson criticized south Korea´s Lee Myung Bak for dangerous brinkmanship on the basis of his lack of knowledge about political and military affairs, calling them military gangsters, who go reckless, unaware of what their master, the USA has in mind, unaware of the intentions of neighboring countries and of what his fellow countrymen and the nation desire.
The spokesperson of the KPA Supreme Command stated, that he had been authorized to declare, that the army groups at the front, ground forces, the navy, air and anti-air units, strategic rocket units of the KPA, the Worker-Peasant Red Guards and the Young Red Guards have launched an all-out action according to an operational plan that has been signed by the DPRK´s Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un.
“Now, that the US imperialists seek to attack the DPRK even with nuclear weapons, it will counter them with diversified precision nuclear strike means of Korean style”, he continued, stating, that “This land (DPRK) is neither the Balkans nor Iraq or Libya”. The spokesperson stated, that the army and the people have all necessary nuclear capabilities, including smaller nukes, unlike those the DPRK had in the past.
The KPA Supreme Command, he stated, has nullified the Korean Armistice Agreement, because the south Korean forces are a vivid expression of is systematic violation.
As a third measure, the spokesperson stated, the KPA will abandon the Panmujon mission of the KPA, which was tentatively established and operated by it as a negotiating body for establishing a peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean Peninsula, and that the Panmujon DPRK – US military telephone line had been cut.
The spokesperson ended his statement by reiterating, that it has become clear, that the moves of the hostile forces, to encroach upon the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK are reaching a dangerous phase.
