A staff in Chinese Academy of Science corrupted 1.38 million Yuan for buying a house and repaid the expense of his father’s illness.
Zhou was born in 1982, Jiangshu province, and got his Master’s Degree in Renmin University. He admitted his guilt on the court. He reported that there were two ways he corrupted, the first way was to use cheat for the books reimbursements and the second was to report more numbers of the people who would participant in the conference and got much more labor costs.
In the court, Zhou claimed that he always did great in school, and got a nice job when he graduated. He should have a nice career and why did he commit a crime? So the reporter communicated with him after the court.
Beijing News: How much was your income in Chinese Academy of Science?
Zhou: It was pretty good, and I also own a cultural company. I could earn at sum of over 10 thousand a month. But it’s not enough at all.
Beijing News: Did you want to stop when corrupted so much money?
Zhou: I knew it’s criminal in the very beginning. I wanted to quit because of the press, but I want more profits. I still felt so guilt and could not get over it.
