Oil leak of Bohai Bay is still continued

According to North Sea Branch of State Oceanic Administration, the B and C platform of Penglai 19-3 oil field is still spilling after two months of oil leak accident.

The polluted sea area has increased, compared to few days ago.

The maritime surveillances officers monitored that B platform has still intermittent overflown oil bloom and bubbles, with a number of oil bands around, while C platform is continued to leak, 2.52 liters in 24-hour. Several oil belts were found near the C platform.

Currently, B platform wells have been closed except B23 and B37 which were put pressure of artificial.

It is reported that North Sea Branch of State Oceanic Administration has issued a notice to instruct ConocoPhillips to continue to effective control, disposal and clean up the oil spill, asking them to arrange a special duty boat to 24-hour monitor oil covered sea.

Meanwhile, North Sea Branch of State Oceanic Administration required ConocoPhillips to take all effective measures to cut off the source of oil leak before August 31.
