New tax government document which was reported by CCTV and Xinhua is faked

State Administration of Taxation issued an emergency declaration on Monday morning, to clarify the new personal income tax notice which was published few days ago.

State Administration of Taxation (SAT) said that a widely-circulated document concerning revisions on the country’s individual income tax law was forged. “Some individuals forged the SAT’s name and published a document on issues related to implementation of the revised individual income tax law, which seriously missed taxpayers,” the administration said in a notice.

“The SAT has never published such a document nor made any elaborations; the document and alleged elaborations were forged,” the notice said.

It is known that the document first appeared on the web on August 11, and then was reported by Guangzhou Daily, Xinhua, CCTV-4 and CCTV-新闻on August 13. Subsequently, domestic medias reported the news on August 14.

Many people were talking about the tax document, and applauded for it.

It is found that all reports clearly pointed that interviewees are the “SAT-related person”.
