Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary threatened to dispatch Self-Defense Forces to “defend” China’s Diaoyu Islands

In a meeting of Parliament on August 10, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said that if there is other countries invasion of the Senkaku Island, namely China’s Diaoyu Islands, Japan will dispatch Self-Defense Force or take other measures to strict response.

Edano, in the Special Committee of Senate on Okinawa, stressed that if Diaoyu Islands were invaded, Japan would protect its “self-defense”, even sent the SDF to fight back. He stressed that the Diaoyu Islands has controlling by Japan, which is different from other disputed islands, such as the North Territory which Russia called as Southern Kuril Islands, and Takeshima which South Korea called as Dokdo.

Japan’s Kyodo News reported that Edano’s speaking may take into account the boats collision between China and Japan, which is recognized as a series of actions of China.
