On July 15, US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in Istanbul, Turkey said the following: “I am announcing today that, until an interim authority is in place, the United States will recognize the TNC as the legitimate governing authority for Libya, and we will deal with it on that basis.”
What kind of guy is that saying “I” who seems to make a global announcement as a seemingly arbitrary order to the whole world? Ah, right after making that unbeliebably arrogant order, this guy kindly says “I” is “the United States“! Um…
The Washington Post titled its July 15th’s article on Libya the “US to recognize Libyan rebels as legitimate government.” It also reports “the decision,” announced at a foreign ministers’ meeting of “30 Western and Arab nations” (puppets?), “clears the way for the rebels to access some of Libya’s frozen US assets, worth a total of more than $30 billion.”
No need to even mention how the “financially bankrupted” Empire’s junior partners (who are also in financial crises) like Britain, France, Italy and the likes would have behaved under the (sounds like) dictatorial orders, the coordination, the scolds (as the departed Defense Secretary Gates did in his last visit to NATO last month) from their global arbiter, as if mafia people obey to their Godfather their mafia BOSS.
As noted in the Post’s article, French and Italy foreign ministers said at the Istanbul gathering “all nations at the meeting were now prepared to follow suit [as their boss did].”
Like their boss, now France and Italy also both “pledged to unfreeze Libyan funds” as well.
But, by the way, all that tens of billions of US dollars they so called “unfreeze and give it to the rebels” are whose money in the first place? Isn’t that the Libyan people’s sovereign wealth? If so, then what they are doing now is exactly the act of robberies, thugs, gangsters, aren’t they?
Others like the pro-US or America’s Arab puppets like Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the likes have also followed through by obeying the orders from the Godfather by pledging “varying degrees of funding for the rebels.”
However, throughout apparently the carefully-planned for a longtime and then decisively-executed coup led by US and followed by its both Western and Arab puppets against Libya, there is no doubt the US/NATO/GCC’s “information war”[i] against Libya such as misinformation, disinformation, lies, fabrications, distortions, false witnesses and the likes must have been heavily played into the whole scheme.
As was the case against Gaddafi, the US/NATO’s “regime change” operation through their viciously deceptive tactics of information war against the national leadership of Libya has been a great success so far.
Now it’s been a well-known fact that their “psychological warfare”[ii] mainly through their global corporate media outlets (like the at the moment deeply wounded global media empire Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation) has been the key factor to have attempted to legitimate, at least at a superficial level for now, their illegitimate invasion against a sovereign nation.
The US/Western colonial powers committed again their habitually evil acts, i.e., committing indescribably heinous crimes against a sovereign nation and its innocent people (the “civilians”!) in the name of (their) so-called “freedom, democracy, and human rights” (FDHR).
Right, there is one more item this time they added into this disgustingly hypocritical and habitual claims of FDHR which item has become later sooooo… “famous,” the so-called “protection of civilians.”
Like the cases of Afganistan and Iraq, they tried hard to completely deceive the world, but this time they’ve so far apparently failed on that.
However, they didn’t care much now. In fact, throughout their history of colonialization of mostly non-white world populations, it can be safely said they never seem to have genuinely cared about how others think on their centuries-old dirty tricks, betrayals, lies, etc.
Under these wordlessly, indescribably, unbelievably heinous circumstances, is still a life of normalcy possible in the future? Will there be any genuine future possible or is there any hope in the future after the whole world has helplessly failed to stop the US/NATO/GCC’s heinous crimes against a sovereign nation Libya?
After this sort of global moral failure, deception, and greed now seems to have become like the NORM even in this supposed-to-be-NEW century’s global power relations, would a life of normalcy still be possible? At least for the moment the answer seems No!
