Palestinians have been burying their dead after 59 protesters were killed at the Gaza fence by Israeli forces on Monday. The funerals fall on the anniversary of the Nakba, or ‘catastrophe’, marking the flight or exile of more than 700,00 Palestinians from their homes during the creation of Israel in 1948. UN officials have condemned the killing of protesters as an ‘outrageous human rights violation’
