Chinese state media say a toddler who fell 10 stories and survived after being caught by a passer-by has woken up from a 10-day coma.
The 2-year-old girl was left unattended and fell from her family’s apartment window in eastern Zhejiang province on July 2.
Xinhua News Agency says she had been unconscious since the fall. It said she opened her eyes Tuesday and called out to her parents.
The girl nicknamed Niu Niu was in critical condition with serious internal injuries when she was taken to hospital.
Xinhua quoted a doctor as saying now that her heartbeat, blood pressure and pulse are all normal “we can assume she’s out of danger.”
The passer-by and neighbor who saved her from hitting the ground fractured her arm.
