On Wednesday, the relevant department of Ruichang, Jiangxi province sent water to residents, due to running water contamination, causing 110 local people poisoned.
According to hospital, patients are generally normal vital signs after treatments, except few patients’ liver and kidney functions become abnormal.
It is surveyed that the polluting company named Hongyi Smelting Co., who stop production before two or three years, but still discharge industrial sewage for a long-term. When the sewage into the soil erodes the underground water pipe to rupture, the running water was contaminated.
Zhang Youcheng, the general manager of Hongyi, said that, usually, the industrial wastewater will be repeated use for several times, “reluctant to waste”, but in the final, the sewage directly was discharge into the soil without isolation.
