Unemployed individuals needn’t to pay Medicare

Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security recently issued a notice that during receiving unemployment benefits, the unemployed individuals required participating in employee health insurance, and the premiums paid from the unemployed insurance fund with no extra fees. If unemployment insurance benefits transfer to other places, the employee health insurance transfers too.

The notice demand that the contribution rate of insurance should in accordance with the region’s, which based on the average wage of workers last year, and the minimum ration is not less than 60%.

The payment period of unemployed people’s employee health insurance should be calculated in the cumulative number of years before unemployment.

As long as unemployed individuals participate in employee health insurance, he has the rights to enjoy benefits of inpatient and outpatient health care, and the period coincide with the duration of unemployment insurance benefits, but not enjoy the unemployment insurance fund to pay for medical treatment grants.
